Silly old fools

Saw Brian Ferry married whatsername whose only notable quality is being several generations newer than him. It might be a real marriage, but I do remember reading an intensely righteous article in a Sunday Supplement years ago where Brian was pictured in his story book house with his fairy tale family, wearing a  soppy expression (we need a new word for smug) in which he stated he was bored to rigormortis with celebrity posturing and phony rent- a- crowd VIP parties and would now spend every spare second with his beloved wife and kids forevermore....because that (at the time)was all that mattered...I wonder what his kids think now....probably embarrassed beyond endurance at the spectacle he's making of himself....no wonder spoiled to ruination Otis is so ridiculous with Brian as his father...
(Anthony Worral-Thompson thrill seeking again...apparentley pinching the cheese and wine was
only for starters!!)
A lovely colleague shared some marriage maintenance advise today...'when he walks through the door
always boil a kettle or whatever to make him think you're doing something for him..'.I'm mulling... it will mean afterall a complete change of lifestyle, this tactical little manoeuvre will involve me rising from the sofa and shelving the wine not to mention the inconveniance of having to record the trashy tv I would ordinarily be staring at when he arrives home!! it's a bit draconian ...I'll give it some thought...
I have however applied the advise my mum gave me...'it is best in a marriage/relationship when walking around to be partially sighted and partially deaf'..thats a good one....off to chess club now...it's the only venue I've found where the children don't speak the dialect of 'street gansta' and  even more refreshingly don't feel the need to habitually display their fake armani underpants.for all to see....
