The world is hurtling towards world war 3, and all i've heard at work today is crap like
'does my bum look slightly oversized in this realtively new garment?'
or 'yes they stick on fantastic acrylic nails at the new Vietnamese place on the corner'
or '...sorry i'm too busy surfing ebay for even more shoes i can't afford
to add to the three thousand pairs i have collecting dust already.'.. and the even worse '... i don't have time to notice current affairs apart from the one i'm having with the boss...'
What effective distractions from matters of importance vanity ,self obsession and upkeep of image actually are!!
The preoccupations most people have with hair extentions, face painting cosmetics,
body sculpting mechanisms, and the constant magnetic pull of The Mirror because How You Look
and whether a person Looks SEXY or even ghastlier the often posed question 'what happened in Eastenders?' are much more important than trying to preserve freedom and compassion and speak out for the vulnerable, these things it seems to my colleagues are just not on their radar...at all..even major changes at work have utterley escaped their notice, we used to work in peace and harmony in seperate offices, now 40 people are crammed into one open space while other rooms remain heated and empty...why? to ensure we police each other, you have to censor everything you say wich is a microcosm of society...society is censored too as we all know...probably the powers that be prefer us all in our preoccupied policed boxes so they can pursue their agendas with impunity...
At work years ago I asked if anybody had seen footage on TV about the ethnic cleansing atrocitiesof the
Bosnian war...blank faces stared back questionningly, thousand of human beings were being murdered,
were in pain, were devastated, and not in Africa but much closer..and my good friend Kate ( I am fond of her) ignored me and asked Greg :'did you get those curtains?'I gave up then, but i'm still stunned at intelligent peoples' lack of empathy...
love is when pain is felt not only by the injured human being, but by the observing human being...
I sound sanctimonious but even if you think i am unreasonably judgemental and damning about colleagues,
surely dear valued reader you simply MUST agree that global politics is a bit more stimulating than whether or not Joanne's ever expanding and decreasing bum is bigger this month than it was last !!!!XXXX
